With AEQ method® we strive to eliminate chronic pain with a safe, caring and understanding approach wih long-term effects. It is an active method and a successfull way of sensory-motorical learning which teaches us how to eliminate the causes of most of the chronic pains in muscles and movement related restrictions in our lives.
The reason behind chronically tense muscles (spasms) is loss of conscious feeling and control over our muscle tonus. We forget how to stop a move or motion and do something completely different. This stasis is caused by sensory-motorical amnesia and it develops as an effect of injury, habits and the exposure to stress. Muscles have adjusted themselves to being constantly being tense due to the S-M amnesia and will stay this way no matter how we try to relax them. If we wish to eliminate the problem we must first feel the muscles which have become acustomed to being tense and only after that we can learn how to relax them.
